Dear Father

I know this is coming a little late
But if you think of the joy of being a father
Imagine the feeling of being loved unconditionally
By someone who knows your every imperfections
Your craziness, your insecurities and inabilities
And still choose to love you
Someone who has every reason to abandon,
To destroy or at least to reject you
But instead treasure you above all
Imagine the sense of wholeness and certainty
Growing up and living daily
In both the seasons of harvest and uncertainties
Having the full assurance that your father
Is with you and will always be there for you
To protect
To provide for
To teach and guide
And to listen to you
Now, having experienced or at least imagined
The unfeigned love of God - the Good Shepherd
How he is concerned with every details of your life
And he is not waiting for you to win a prize
To be proud of you
How he has forgiven you
Even when you were deep in sin and iniquities
And sent his only begotten son - Jesus Christ
As a sacrifice to cleanse you from all unrighteousness
And to draw you back to the place of honour and glory
Giving you full authority and inheritance
Among the saints
Now go and pour the same kind of love
You have experienced, read or imagined from God
Upon your little child
Be there for him or her always
Cherish and train him/her in the way he/she should go
Be there to guide, protect, provide for and listen to
Your biggest little treasure(s)
And remember that
Fatherhood is a special kind of gift and privilege from God
So let it draw you closer to Jesus
Make you cherish the wife of your youth
And encourage you to take pride in building your home.
Big Congratulations!
And welcome to Fatherhood!
Yours Beloved,

Chrislove

The Eminence – M.H.C

It is safe to say that in recent years and decades, the cemetery has its highest tenancy occupancy rate in the year 2020. The year that historically, politically and socio-economically we were supposed to witness the manifestation of the peak advancement [improvement] in human society and quality of life.

The rapidity of the spread of the covid19 virus and the egregious and catastrophic destruction of the global human capital is a testament to the inability and incapability of humans [and science] to fully understand, respond to and resolve human or societal issues as we claimed.

The gregarious nature of man was curtailed in an attempt to preserve him from being wasted by the virus. The isolation of man [a social being] through the proposition of “healthy individualism” coupled with the constant exposure, feeding and rumination on negativity [rising deaths, hospitalization and cases of Coronavirus] triggers an outrageous deterioration of #mentalhealth.

Human institutions such as religious organizations where people tend to find solace and are historically known to enhance or foster the sense of community, togetherness, love and mutual understanding, have had their activities restricted to the barest minimum possible and in most instances provided virtually. Additional exposure to the digital world.

Therefore, even if the world is successfully vaccinated against Covid-19 and its variants, we should be planning for a global mental health and emotional crises. And begin training and equipping our households, offices, organizations and communities with the appropriate resources to help manage it. The complexity, sensitivity, almost asymptomatic and realistically incurable nature of some #mentalhealthcrises makes it even more deadly than the virus, thereby necessitating an aggressive approach and attention to it.

Those that needed love killed love

Yet the love they killed keeps loving them

We shed the blood of love

Yet stains of the blood of love cleanse us

The love we did great injustice against

Keeps speaking mercy and justice for us

We break all laws, destroy images of love

Abuse the likenesses of love

Desecrate the institutions of love

Yet love gives us rest at night

And wakes us up in the morning.

Just Don’t Keep Me Waiting

Treat me like a patient

Just don’t keep me waiting

I know I’ve got some patience

But this is an emergency

And it needs urgent attention

But you can’t know what I want

If you don’t know who I am

Like, how do you know where I’m going

If you don’t know what’s driving me

My life is a journey

The destination, time unfolding

I know the Way am following

The speed the pain is slowing

You can follow me on

While I try to figure things out

Or you can wait and observe

Till it’s all figured out

But just don’t keep me waiting

For I’m a patient

And time is of essence.

I Have A Life To Live

What is important to you?
Or what should you care about?
Is it about what you feel?
Or what we feel about you?

I pick up my pen to write
The battle is not about
What to write about
But rather what I am
Expected to write about.

I am stuck between these
Contrasting worlds of mine
To write my heart
Which you do not want to hear
Or to write what you want
Which I may not really care about.

Why am I evening thinking
About what you want?
I have a life to live
If you want someone
Who will do exactly what you want
Why not get a clone of you?
You have enough resources, why not make one?

I have a life to live
A saviour to please
Poems to write
And records to break
My mind to speak
And a mission to fulfill
And after all said and done
I have my life to account.
