A PRISONER OF LOVE

Ticking clock, hastening age, dashing dreams

Malnourished, thirsty and starving

Love deficient, hopeless faith, fleeting life

A dying heart needing CPR, no paramedics.

Never been taught what love’s like, nor imagined I could love

Thought love is only in Hollywood

But if love is Hollywood, we are forever doomed to be selfish

Love was long dead, forgotten, and now abstract.

Meeting you made me a doctor of Love

A dying patient becoming a doctor?

Resuscitation! Your love makes my heart functional

Your love changes everything.

I lost everything just to gain patience

A covering for the rainy days

Raincoat not just an umbrella that covers part

My light in my dark hours.

Every ticking clock ignites the flame of unfeignedly boundless love

The thought of you polishes the rough edges of my limbic system

Your love is the experience of lifetime

Eternity in perspective.

A love that last not like the last

A love from the heart not books

A love on giving, but first the heart

A love so loud to the deaf even without words.

Now I’m prisoner of love,

A prisoner with no one to bail

Chained to your lotus blossoming tender-kindness

Forever secured by your dove-charmed breastplate, I’m yours!

  1. Hey! This post couldn’t be written any better! Reading this post reminds me of my previous room mate! He always kept talking about this. I will forward this page to him. Pretty sure he will have a good read. Thank you for sharing!
