Relationship Scale of Preference

RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS

The vertical relationship is at the peak of the Triangle. You want to maintain a healthy relationship with your Creator because that’s is the source of your life, power and wellbeing. Once this is intact, every other relationships becomes a flow). A man who does not understand the love of Jesus Christ for His Church will not be able to love his wife unconditionally as expected. Also, the woman who does not understand the submission of the Church to Jesus Christ, will find it difficult to submit to her husband. The same applies to relate with children, family and friends.

RELATIONSHIP WITH SPOUSE

(Relationship with your spouse is the second most important, most precious and valuable one because your spouse is an inseparable part of you; your partner in this journey of life and the one who watches your blindspots). As long as I am concerned, It is better to remain single than to marry someone you can’t trust or rely on. This is very important.

A healthy marriage breeds healthy community

RELATIONSHIP WITH CHILDREN

Your relationship with your child or children is very important especially for them because it has a trickling down effect on future generations and the society as a whole. Children learn more by imitation, meaning that they get to copy how you relate with your spouse (as a parent, you are your children’s first and strongest role model and ally). A child’s behaviour can be traced directly to the parents and family they come from. As Next Minute Leaders™, your children will replicate what they see in the lives of the parents and close family members, and of course, take it to the next level. This is why it’s very important to train up your child “in the way it should go”- King Solomon

RELATIONSHIP WITH EXTENDED FAMILY

This is a very important and delicate relationship to manage. It’s delicate because this is your family – they knew your challenges, weaknesses and have been there for you from infancy. They played a major role in your upbringing. I’m talking about your parents, siblings, inlaws, and family members. It very important because you have to keep the relationship healthy and respectful even if don’t accept their counsels or disagree with them.

I refer to them as extended family because once you’re married, your nuclear family structure changes to: you, spouse and children

RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS

Keep it clean, friendly and resourceful.

Today You Live

Live Today as a Gift – be grateful for every breathe you take, every success you achieve, and every opportunity you have to be a better person (either through losses, challenges, failures or disappointments

Live Today As a Seed – invest in your future and avoid instant gratification & wastage of resources. Create something even if you don’t really understand what it is.

Live Today like the Saviour – pattern your life as though you are the saviour that the community, people or company you find yourself in are waiting for. Add values to the lives of those around you.

Live Today as though Tomorrow is a Wishful Thinking – do and be your very best today. Strive to get the optimal performance or use of your available resources. Imagine today is the only day you have to live and tomorrow is an evaluation of today.

Live Today as a Child – love as if you whole world loves you, as if you have never been hurt and as if you won’t be here forever: bring positive energy along with your warm smiles, strengthen the faith of others, lift up the fallen, help the blind to see the beauty in life, place with everyone and live freely

Live Today for those who don’t have Tomorrow – use your giftings (time, money, resources, networks, etc) to support the less privilege. Volunteer at a charity; give your seat on the bus to a senior, pregnant woman, child or someone with accessibility challenge; speak out against injustice; help raise awareness about something that matters to you but for the benefit of others.

I AM THE BRIDGE

I am here trying to be the bridge

Between the deaf and the lame

But how can the blind explain to the dumb

That we are all one family

If we all think we are better than each other?

.

We all have dark nights and touch lights

We are all born in Fall

Even if some leafs are still green

You only know true light when there’s darkness

Not when the sun is shining

.

So why not leave out the filters

That make darkness look like light

And focus on the light that clears all darkness?

Deaf, dumb, blind or lame

Love is the language that we all understand

COMPETE WITH YOUR FUTURE

When you know your unique worth and value you will have no fear of competition because nobody can actually compete with you. You are uniquely crafted and gifted in a way that it is absolutely impossible to replicate. Your timeline and sequence of events are completely personalized and so there is no need trying to compete with anyone else. Your priority is to identify your mission/purpose in life and fight to accomplish it.

If you want want to compete, go compete with your ancestors. If you win, you are a local champion. Meaning that you are legitimately a failure. Don’t even think of competing with your peers, co-workers or friends because you DON’T have any close substitute or equal. Even your identical twin has a completely different mission and timeline on earth.

People say “strive today to be better than your yesterday”. I say “if you are just better today than your yesterday, then you’re a failure because you are still living in your past glories”. Like, thank GOD for those stuffs and more on. I know the idea is never to have a better yesterday but my point is never to live in yesterday.

If you want true competition, dream of the person you want to be in 5, 10 years and start competing against them with the resources you have now.

This is what I call competition because naturally, you will have access to more and better information, resources, network and skills 5-10years from now than what you currently have. And so it will be a real challenge to compete with them. And don’t just say it today and abandon it a few weeks after like your new year resolution.

So what do you want to become or where do you want to be in 5-10years time?
Take out time away from the disturbance and enjoyment of the moment to think, plan and reflect on your life and destiny. Travel out of your current community or locality if need be. You need a quiet time to communicate with GOD, yourself and your future. Maybe take a fast from food or even social fasting. Take a walk in the park. Collect your church key/access and go there during non-service hours and days. Visit a place where you have access to more natural environment or just wake up in the night, observe the serenity of environment and the ‘interaction’ in the firmament. Read some books or autobiographies about some of the people and or public figures that you inspire you.

Take your writing (or drawing or recording) materials along. Write down your thoughts, feelings, observations, questions and revelations.
Then asked yourself what skills, attitude, behavioral modification or resources you think are necessary to actualize this dream?

Then, take out time to evaluate your writings, recordings or drawings. Scale it and challenge yourself to start making the adjustment to pattern your life after your new vision. Here, remember to speak of practical and realistic facts using the SMART Goal Principle – Be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound.

A daily, weekly, monthly and ultimately, yearly target
Then begin the actual competition (against your future self) as if it’s a sport for a prize. Set up a reward system for yourself to keep you motivated.

The most fascinating thing about this write- up is that I don’t have it all figured out yet and so I am speaking to myself too.

LOSING A CLOSE FRIEND

Love, joy and laughter

Order of my work with you

When together, a moment of joy

That make life easier and better.

Though we never knew each other before

Work, no, God connects us

Time together was a research labs

We discovered new cures.

For the daily scheduling disease

That cancer torment our souls with no cause

The epidemic that seems to have no cure

The sun shines on us.

We learn and challenge each other

Your decisions inspired me

Now am thrilled for the nocturnal life

For much joy rest in the resting hours.

But nature, no, humans cut the joy short

With hatred, reviews and negative energies

Now another deadly cancer you need to suffer

But no, you chose to live free.

They lose you, but you gain honours

Poetic justice, I guess am the judge

Goodnews: ain’t lose you, we only gain peace

I miss you brotherly! See you at the top.

INSPIRATION: MY next goal after putting the sonnet in my closet is to write a #Limerick, challenging myself to to explore the different poetic forms. The biggest challenge is that limerick is a 5-line poem with a rhyme scheme AABBA which has an introduction to a person or character, their battles and a concluding line that shows some sort of triumph or current situation.

This then presents an excellent opportunity to summarize my one-generation on the planet and as a precious clay in the hand of no mean potter in 5 lines.

THIS IS MR.CHRISLOVE™

I know a young man called MR.CHRISLOVE

Born and raised Christian yet without Love

Spent adolescence as an alcoholic

Bullied into low self-esteem, rejection and vitriolic

Grown up to be a teetotaler, community leader, inspired writer, and an ambassador of Love.

I WILL WAIT

INSPIRATION

We live in a very fascinating, fast pace world. Everyone wants to be wealthy, famous, influential and married asap. Everybody wants quick-fix, stress-free solutions to everything. We are blessed with advanced technologies and the social media that is literally taking away interpersonal interaction. With the likes of drive-thru, microwave, social media billionaires, everything is moving really fast. The virtues of patience and hard work seem to be fading away but we are here to reiterate, reinstate and reinforce it.

The clock is ticking so fast

Yet I will wait for the Lord’s time

For everything under the Sun, there is time

Everyone and everything is going very fast

Microwave, drive-thru, smart phones, social media, all seem fast

Yet the silent voice says the best is God’s time

The vision is for an appointed time

So though the vision tarry yet will I hold fast

Those that wait upon the Lord

A renewed strength and wings they received for the fall

For within a night, a child is swiftly conceived today

But it takes 9months to have the child’s naming ceremony and dedication to the Lord

So I will wait while planning and executing, and not waiting for windfall

Because tomorrow is only tomorrow to those who plan and execute today.
