My Lost Treasure

Like a lily, you grew up so quickly

Radiating the glory and splendor embedded within.

And like the grass, you withered away too quickly

That we couldn’t capture the true value of your personality.

.

Leaving an indelible vacuum in the field

A vacuum that only wishes can fill

But wishes are never horses

Else I would have been an ostler.

.

When I think of the visions and people you could have reached

Tears roll down my cheek

Yet like Solomon, when I consider the evil in the world

I congratulate and count you fortunate to have left early.

.

I call you my lost treasure

But since you’re not in ‘lost n found’

You’re better called my ‘Stolen Treasure’

As the freezing hand of death has stolen you from us.

.

Your desire to become a world trader was cut short by this aggressive monopolist

Your sun set before the dew of the dawn

And your midday dark as dusk felt like 9:11

Rest well beloved, I will see you at home when I finish the good fight!

CHILDREN AS OUR NEXT MINUTE LEADERS: THE PERSONAL REFLECTION OF A CHILDREN MENTOR

Volunteering as a Children Mentor has been one of my most fulfilling volunteer programs because it gives me the rare privilege of directly positively impacting the lives of our Next Minute Leaders™img_20170118_022413_738

Playing with and being around children is one of the things I do for fun. children are my favorite people on earth. No matter how stressful my school work and what’s going on in my personal life, I am always waiting for 3:45 pm to go meet with these super talented, brilliant & highly gifted children. Their quest for knowledge, leadership and athletic skills, and dedication/strong desire to contribute to the community in practical ways are overwhelmingly motivating.

For those who don’t know, “CanU is a Winnipeg-based charitable organisation that inspires hope and confidence in the leaders of tomorrow through its out-of-school mentorship and educational enrichment program for youth in Grades 5-12. Throughout the year, CanU Kids participate in a wide range of educational experiences on post-secondary campuses and develop their nutrition, health, academic, social, and leadership skills. CanU programs are designed and led by university student volunteers who are honing their leadership and community service skills. With a goal of inspiring hope and confidence, and empowering our kids to see possibilities and seize opportunities.” ( http://www.canucanada.org).

I started volunteering with CanU Canada in October 2014 (the program runs from October to March in each academic calendar). I had the privilege of mentoring kids from different ages, socio-economic, family and ethnic backgrounds. I also worked with CanU during Summer 2015 for the special program that was a partnership with Israel Idonije Foundation, Imagine Summer Leadership Program, in which I served as a role model to the kids in an ethical, professional, social and interpersonal relationship. picking up, travelling with and dropping off to The Price Companies, Red River College, University of Manitoba College of Pharmacy, Manitoba Museum, Get Out Of The Basement (GOTB), etc for professional training, skills acquisition and to widen their career choices.

And because I personally experienced the importance of having a humble & exemplary role model, I carry out my responsibilities with zeal,  passion, enthusiasm and love. My ultimate goal every volunteer day is to make sure that they are at least a 1000 times better youths/young adults than myself.

One of the major ways of carrying out these responsibilities is by using positive reinforcement: appreciating/celebrating the kids for every act of kindness, humility, leadership role, heroic acts such as giving up personal comfort to make the group as a whole more comfortable, taking initiatives, etc. Examples include: celebrating a child that opens the door for others; say THANK YOU to a caregiver cleaning the floor; say THANK YOU to an invested guest/instructor on behalf of the group, etc.

Also, I don’t focus on their mistakes or errors but rather empower them to do greater and more excellent things. Don’t allow them to settle for anything less but rather guide them to think that there are no heights that they can’t attain. Oh yeah, this is exactly where the organization name comes in CANU (the University of CAN), a place where U CAN achieve anything you want with passion, dedication, discipline, diligence, hard work and God’s help, irrespective of your family, socio-economic background). We see possibilities for every seemingly impossible situation, excellence in every mistake, and greatness in every weakness.

In addition, it is commonly said that “experience is the best teacher” and so I tell them my story of how though being born without a silver spoon, achieving mediocre grade, walking around without specific goal and ambition other than to become a local fisherman and floating around with “high ranking mediocre” become an award winning student. My life was transformed due to an excellent mentor (my elder brother PRINCE GOGOGWUTE), discipline, focus, hard work and God’s Grace. Now I have to be a little careful here because my life and all that I may think I have accomplished are much of God’s Grace, Love and Mercy than my personal efforts because I have been to places, interacted with people that ordinary personal efforts wouldn’t have qualified me. And so saying that my hard work earned me these will be equivalent to using someone’s work (in this case, God’s Grace) without acknowledging it. That’s PLAGIARISM at its peak. I don’t even want to start thinking about the punishment.

Finally, haven known from personal experience, observation and words of elders that children learn more by imitation. I strive for excellence in conducting myself within and outside the program, in my conversation with fellows and even social life (because these kids are smarter and can find you anywhere (wont be surprised that they’re reading this).

Over time, I get to see many of these children display these characteristics consciously and unconsciously. This is why I refer to Children as Next Minute Leaders™ because they learn, adapt and improve so quickly and smartly that they manifest what is being thought a few minutes after. Therefore, calling them leaders of Tomorrow is underestimating their learning and leadership abilities.

It is quite impressive seeing some of the children who were part of the Grade 5&6 program grow up to take up the responsibility of Junior Mentors, mentoring the younger ones (the current Grade 5&6 kids), working alongside university student mentors like myself by “introducing kids to the dream of post-secondary education” and volunteering at other schools.

One of my favourite days was the day that one of the children (now a Junior Mentor) said that she wants to take over the leadership/management of CanU Canada after Mr Roger Berrington (the Owner/Founder). So Mr Roger in his characteristic manner: always eager to see the kids take great initiatives, very motivating and passionately supportive, asked her to write him a letter explaining her intentions and what she plans to do. And to our immense surprise, she came back a few days later with the letter. Although I don’t have access to the content of the letter (which really doesn’t matter for this article), her passion and willingness to give back to the community and serve others are praiseworthy.

The Children are our Next Minute Leaders™ because they can learn, adapt and improve so quickly and smartly that they manifest what is being thought a few minutes after. Therefore, calling them leaders of Tomorrow is underestimating their learning and leadership abilities.

THE SERENADER’S POEM

The pages of the book are limited

But the serenade of my lover is infinite

140 characters was I limited to

yet growth of double is much of a constraint.

Not even enough to admire the pulchritude of her eyes.

Now I see why angels are not in-love nor is there marriage at Home.

For much is the distractions in the timetable of a lover.

I wish the whole earth is the home of patient lovers,

For much joy and peace reside in the heart

Of the one whose long prepared lover is revealed to.

They say “beauty is fading”,

But with your beauty only eyes fade!

As an eagle, my eyes continually behold more beauty.

Kids see beauty but adults conceive beauty

Oh! Greater access to the Light ignites a visionary beauty in your image.

For thought of you I honor my bachelor
With masters in hope and patience
Yet with you, I’m a doctor in contentment

For you are the epitome of true beauty

And your beauty is the light that clears all doubt & darkness.

PARTIAL ANNOTATION

They say beauty is fading,
But with your beauty only eyes fade!
But as an eagle, my eyes continually behold more beauty.
Oh! Greater access to the Light ignites a visionary beauty in your image.
Kids see beauty but adults conceive beauty.

Meaning: If you see beauty with your eyes, beauty will fade away as you grow older because your eyes become dimmer. This explains why people date or get married for some months/years only to separate from each other during moments of trials and challenges – they are kids carried away by physical attractions without conviction. It does not mean that the lady becomes less attractive/beautiful but the guys’ eyes have grown dimmer and since they’re controlled/led by their eyes, they can no longer see the beauty in her.

This is one of the reasons why I am ABSOLUTELY AGAINST CHILD MARRIAGE because something as beautiful as marriage and the outcome (in most cases, pregnancy), which is to be cherished. They may end up destroying both themselves and the babies because they lack the maturity and training to take care of them.

But if you conceive an idea, it only gets better as you grow older with more understanding and translate (give birth) to something much more beautiful. And you will always look for the best ways to nurture the beautiful idea. Think of when a woman conceives a child, she even avoid some her favorite meals – dietary restrictions, just to make sure that the embryo is well nourished to grow to become a beautiful child.

Your beauty is the light that clears all doubt & darkness
[Your beauty – personality, clears the doubt that you’re God’s gift to me and clears darkness(=other girls floating around me). NO Mrs Portiphar.

The conclusion of the matter is that, dont be led by your eyes but rather be led by your conviction

FOLLOW YOUR TIMELINE

Fulfilment or ultimate success in life is personal. You can seek the assistance or guidance of others. You can also get inspiration from others. But make sure you are running your race according to your timeline and not what others add on your timeline.

Like the popular saying “we will not all journey through the same route”, identify your route and stick to it. Take full responsibility for your own failure and success in life because you are ultimately responsible for them anyways.

Using the exact words of the wisest man ever, King Solomon “There is a season (a time appointed) for everything and a time for every delight and event or purpose under heaven” – Ecclesiastes 3:1 AMP. There is a chronological arrangement of events in everyone’s life which is unique to the individual. Two identical twins, though born physically alike, have distinctive purposes and missions on earth.

Even your DNA is a constant reminder of your uniqueness in purpose, mission and timeline.

Some of us are given a hundred years to fulfill our missions. Some others of us are given 80% of that.

Some of us may have to get married in order to fulfill our purpose in life. Some others of us, marriage may be a distraction to our fulfilment in life.

Some of us will know our spouses even while in school and not ready to get married, some others of us will only know our spouses when we are ready to get married.

Some of us will have to build our own houses before we get married, while owning a house will distract some others of us from getting married.

Some of us will get married by 25, some other of us will get married after 30.

Some of us will be billionaires at 25, some others of us will be billionaires after 30. Some of us will be making others billionaires. Some others of us will be billionaires on the other side.

Some of us will be owners of businesses and/or organizations, some others of us will be managers of businesses and/or organizations.

Some of us will be pastors, prophets, apostles, teachers, evangelists, etc. Some other of us will be sons and daughters of encouragement.

Some of us will be politicians, some others of us will be soldiers.

Some of us will be playing lead roles in organizational/institutional or national development, while others of us will play background roles.

What is most important is not the status of our accomplishments in life but rather, the accomplishment of our statuses.
Know what you are here for, when you are to achieve it and follow through with it. Do not get discouraged by other people’s accomplishments or how fast they accomplish theirs. Neither should you become so “inspired” as to get married or start a career because others are going into it.

Know your own timeline and stay on your lane

Love, Faith and Hope always!🌟

HE LIVES THAT WE MAY LIVE FOREVER

He died that I may live
A life that I was created to live
I was dead and couldn’t live
Because I wanted a new life to live

I didn’t listen to the Word that
Gave me life to live
But I did listen to the lies that
Made me feel the Word didn’t want me to live

In trying to secure the new life to live
I lost the Word and the life I am to live
But I AM already know that I need I AM to live
And that I cannot buy the life I am to live.

So I AM decided to send I AM

To come just as I am

To buy me the life given by I AM

“It is Finished” said I AM

He has taken me as I am

And given me the life of I AM

Now I am grateful to I AM

Because I am living in AM by I AM

HAPPY EASTER TO YOU ALL!

DRESSING ~ FASHION

I don’t dress because it’s fashionable, neither do I dress to please anybody. I dress to please myself. When I am pleased and comfortable with my outfit, I really don’t care whether or not someone finds it fashionable.

WHY?
First of all, what is “fashionable” is seasonal. For example, what’s fashionable in the Winter or in 2017 may not be fashionable in the Summer or 2018). If you follow the trend you will know that it is revolving. When I was in Junior High, boot cut trousers used to be the trend. By the time I got to Senior High, Pencil jeans (fitted pants) became the “standard”.

Also, fashion is subjective. What seems fashionable to me may seem like an absolutely out of shape to you. People have different tastes, preferences and choices at different times. For instance, I know many see ripped jeans as fashion now, I also know others who see ripped jeans as something bizarre. Yet they are both in the same industry and of like passion.

Finally, fashion is cultural influenced. For example, if you attend native Ghanaian/Nigerian ceremonies, native attires like Kante, Agbada, Dansiki, Etibon, Senator, etc are more fashionable but if you are in the States or Britain, suits and ties are more official dress codes.

As an HEIR 👑 TO THE THRONE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, my responsibility is to dress in a way that will minister Grace to those who see me and more importantly cover my nakedness. It is an insult on my personality to start buying dresses just to feel fashionable to or impress someone.

Therefore, while you value and respect people’s opinions and ideas on how you should dress, ultimately it is your responsibility to choose how and what to put on, when and where. I will end with this:

Fashion without comfort is stupidity

Whatever you choose to wear and represent yourself, make sure you are comfortable with it.

This is my personal opinion and I know a lot of you have awesome ideas about fashion. Let’s have a chat about it here or on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or Snapchat @ChrisloveCGO

WHEN I SEE DARKNESS

When I looked outside my window

I saw enemies with their hatred

And weapons to attack my vision

But I am not disturbed by them

Because I am living with I AM

And surrounded by His Shield

Of Love and Chariots of Fire

With the Chariots of Fire,

I am protected by I AM even with

My little faith like the mustard seed.

With His shield of Love,

I am ignited by Grace to blossom

As the light that the enemies need

To come to the Light of Love.

Therefore, the darkness that I thought

Was preventing my external vision

And making me shortsighted,

Was as Love opens my eyes,

The condition for my light

To shine brighter to the point of

Giving vision to others from a far

And pointing others to the

Light of Love that lightens all paths

And lead to life with Light no end.

So when I look at my window now,

I no more see hatred of the enemies

But rather, I see the prepared field

For the massive harvest of Love.

Whenever I am in my house now,

I invest in love through my partnership

With I AM as I am engraced

And as I am coming outside of my house,

I ignite the light of Love to cultivate

The ready-made field and bring home

Lights, who are the profits of the Love to Light.

When I see darkness, I invest in Love and I ignite my Light
